Friends

We were lucky enough to have some company over the weekend. Mike, Stefanie, Isabella, and even Echo Plane all stopped on their way to Royal City to see Stef's family. Conner was so excited to have a friend to play with. He kept trying to show Bella how to play with his toys and then tried to eat all of her food. He has really come to love being around other kids. It was really nice to have some company (we even got to play some pinochle).

Isabella had lots of fun playing the piano.

Conner LOVED being read to.

Conner and I also went for a walk with our neighbor Meghan and her daughter Sarah. We stopped at the park and let them swing and play on the slides. They had lots of fun even though it was a little chilly outside.

Sleeping Baby

So for those of you that have kids you will appreciate this. Conner is now falling asleep in his bed for both his naps and at night and he is sleeping through the night. So let me just say (with my happy dance) WOOHOO! After a more than a year and lots of people telling me about their babies sleeping through the night it is finally happening to us.
Also, (Erin, you will appreciate this more than most) Conner is also flaring his nostrils at us when he is angry. He looks like a bull. First you get the "look," then he flares his nostrils and snorts. It is so hard not to laugh because it is quite hysterical. For those of you who don't know this, the flaring of the nostrils is a trait that does not come from either me or Joe but must be a learned trait from observing his Aunt Erin. I guess this makes Erin and I even because as I learned a few weeks ago from talking to her son Luke on Skype that he has learned my ever wonderful, yet rarely seen, trait of the "Screech eye". Now the "Screech eye" is too difficult to explain but just think back to the days of watching "Saved by the Bell" and you can kind of imagine that it is truly a puzzling, weird, and somewhat disturbing sight to behold. And if this is all just a little confusing take comfort in the saying "you just had to be there."

Halloween Fun, etc.

Well we finally made it to a second post. Yeah! So I guess we had better do a little catching up. First, Conner is now 1 year old. Can you believe it? We had so much fun on his birthday. Second Halloween has come and gone. We took Conner trick-or-treating at the local mall. He refused to walk. He wanted to be carried the whole time but it was still a lot of fun. Third, we finally have a new president which I am sure you all know but it is still a historical event and pretty exciting. So basically that is about it so just look at the pictures and you will be all caught up as to what is happening around here.

Conner really liked the GIANT pumpkins but he had to settle for a small one.

The pumpkin patch that we went to had all kinds of fun things to do. They had farm animals to pet, a maze, hayride, and lots of other things.

We went to a Halloween party and were in charge of desserts. So we made a bleeding cake and cupcake brains. They were gruesomely good.

Conner went as a "Rocker" for Halloween. I couldn't get a picture of him carrying his guitar but it was still cute. We carved pumpkins Halloween night (a little late) and let Conner try and gut his own pumpkin.

These last pictures are of Conner's birthday party. Gayland, Cindy, Jordon, Dallas, Buddy (the dog), Cidnee and Payeton all came to celebrate with us. We had such a good time and I think Conner did too. Once he got into the cake he was loving life. Don't you miss the days when you could eat like a slob and nobody cared?

Official Start

Remember when life gets you down grin and bare it!

So here it is everyone, our first blog. Now don't count on me to be witty like some people or a consistent "blogger" like others, all you can hope for is a semi-up-to-date blog that at least lets you know what is going on in our lives.

First, I have to vent a little of my frustrations. When Conner first started getting teeth I was so excited. I was diligent in recording each day that his little teeth popped through his swollen gums and even made little diagrams in his book to indicate which tooth had come through. Blast all those efforts because now all he seems to be able to do with his cute little white teeth is BITE! That's right BITE! Have you ever watched Jeff Foxworthy when he
talks about the beaver biting a man's nipple "O -F- F, off" well I fear the day that his stand up routine will soon consist of the same story only it will be "Conner Edwards bit his mother's finger O-F-F, off."
I guess I can't be too upset for as my family will remember we were notorious biters but how do you teach a child not to bite when you bite him back or tell him no and he laughs. It has now become quite the game in our home and no one is exempt from the wrath of Conner. Our poor dog I fear is going to lose her tail any day now. However, on the plus side we do have our own personal document, trash, or just about everything shredder. For all your shredding needs please call Tiny Teeth now operating 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

I guess that is it really except, go Team USA and if anyone has any suggestions for our little problem please, PLEASE let us know. Thanks.

Signed, Bite marks and Bruises
